Subscription Databases
Law Society members and candidates in the Articling Program may access the following online subscription databases at Great Library workstations free of charge.
Westlaw Canada
- Westlaw Canada provides online access to the contents of Carswell's legal products, including the Canadian Encyclopedic Digest, the Canadian Abridgment, Carswell's law report series, as well as unreported cases, selected legislation, finding and updating tools (KeyCiteCanada, Index to Canadian Legal Literature), and journals.
- Under the Westlaw tab, users have access to U.S. case law and legislation from the state and federal levels, as well as American law reviews and other secondary sources.

LexisNexis Quicklaw
- LexisNexis Quicklaw offers access to an extensive collection of databases including case law from all Canadian jurisdictions, administrative tribunal decisions, legislation and legal commentary in the form of texts, journals, newsletters, and indexes.
- In addition to Canadian materials, LexisNexisQuicklaw includes American case law and legislation and selective U.K. and Commonwealth judgments. Decisions are in the form of digests or full text. They may be either electronic versions of printed reports (e.g., Ontario Reports) or unreported current judgments as received directly from the courts.

HeinOnline
- HeinOnline is a searchable image-based collection of legal periodicals that provides exact page images of law reviews and journals so that users can view the pages as they originally appeared in hardcopy.
- Each journal included in HeinOnline is covered in full text since its inception.
LegalTrac
LegalTrac is an online index to legal periodical articles published in American and selected Canadian and Commonwealth law journals since 1980.
Insight InConference
InConference contains materials from hundreds of conferences presented by Insight Information. The materials are organized in broad sectors, such as real estate, corporate finance and general business law, and are fully searchable.
Canadian Tax Foundation
- The Canadian Tax Foundation members' section allows users to search the Foundation's library catalogue indexes for books, articles from journals and periodicals, and conference papers on current and historical issues in taxation, public finance, and fiscal policy.
- Users can also search or browse archives of the monthly newsletter Canadian Tax Highlights from 1996 to the present and the quarterly publication Tax for the Owner-Manager from October 2000 to the current issue.
- The Canadian Tax Journal is available in full text on the public section of the website from v. 43 (1995) to the current issue.
ITPA Portfolio of Laws
- The International Tax Planning Association's Portfolio of Laws contains the trust laws and company laws and other relevant laws and tax treaties of the major offshore jurisdictions around the world.
- Also available is the International Trust Cases section, which provides a list of cases organized by jurisdiction with links to headnotes and files containing passages from the judgments
Ontario Civil Litigation Resource Centre
The Ontario Civil Litigation Resource Centre provides organized legal information for Ontario civil litigators. It iincludes many samples of pleadings as well as sections such as costs, advocacy, civil procedure and wrongful dismissal. There is also an expert witness directory and personal injury damages tables.
Wrongful Dismissal Database
The Wrongful Dismissal Database by Barry Fisher and Patrick Benaroche allows researchers to determine "reasonable notice" periods by matching factors such as age, occupation and years of services and to generate a report of the results.
O'Brien's Encyclopedia of Forms
O'Brien's Encyclopedia of Forms is a comprehensive collection of legal forms and precedents. The following divisions are currently available on the Internet: Commercial and General, Corporations, Leases, Wills and Trusts, Ontario-Family
Law, Labour Relations and Employment, Ontario-Court Forms, Municipal Corporations, and Computers and Information Technology.
Alberta Legislation QP Source Internet
- QP Source Internet contains all of Alberta's current Statutes and Regulations as well as other legislative material such as gazettes.
- The database is updated continuously and is completely searchable.
Early Canadiana Online
- Early Canadiana Online is a full-text collection of more than 3,000 books and pamphlets documenting Canadian history from the first European contact to the late 19th century.
- The collection's areas of strength are literature, women's history, native studies, travel and exploration, and the history of French Canada.
