Supreme Court of Canada
The Supreme Court of Canada, through a collaborative effort with the LexUM laboratory at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law, provides access to a searchable database of all judgments of the Supreme Court of Canada since 1948. It also includes many decisions delivered before 1948 and all decisions originating from Ontario and British Columbia back to 1876. Supreme Court Reports (S.C.R.) from 1970 to date are available in both English and French. Decisions published prior to 1970 are available in the language of publication only. Recent decisions are loaded onto the site the day they are released. The judgments can be browsed by S.C.R. volume or by date, neutral citation, case name, or subject. Simple and advanced search options enable keyword or judgment field searches. News releases are available from 1997 to date and weekly bulletins from 1994 to date. Users can subscribe to the JURINET-L mailing list to be informed of new judgments and the News Releases mailing list. The Act and Rules of the Supreme Court of Canada, a searchable case information database (including appeal factums filed on or after February 9, 2009) as well as webcasts of appeal hearings are also available on the official court website. Supreme Court decisions since January 1, 1948 as well as some prior decisions and all decisions originating from Ontario since 1876 are also available via CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. Federal Court / Federal Court of Appeal
The website of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs offers access to a searchable database of all decisions of the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal (former Federal Court of Canada) published in full text or as digests in the Federal Courts Reports (F.C.R.) since 1993. Reported cases normally appear in the printed version of F.C.R. some six months after being handed down. Also available is information on appeals from decisions of the Federal Courts since 1999. The entire collection can be searched by keyword or browsed by volume, date, neutral citation, case name or subject. Users can also subscribe to the Federal Courts Reports mailing list to be informed of new judgments. The Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal publish recent decisions on their official websites, as well as decisions rendered since 1995 and 1996 respectively, which can be browsed by year or style of cause, or the searched using simple or advanced queries. Acts, Rules and forms pertaining to the Federal Courts are also available on the court website. Decisions of the Federal Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Canada since 1998 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. Tax Court of Canada
The Tax Court of Canada provides access to the full text of judgments issued since 1998 (plus several in 1996 and 1997). Most of the appeals made to the Court relate to income tax, the goods and services tax, or employment insurance. The judgments can be browsed by date, neutral citation, case name, or subject (particular Act), or searched using simple or advanced queries. The Tax Court of Canada Act and Rules are also provided. Decisions of the Tax Court since January 1, 1998 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada
The Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada provides access to the full text of decisions since June 30, 1992. The decisions are organized by year and listed in reverse chronological order. The Rules of Appeal Practices and Procedures of the Court Martial Appeal Court are also available on the court's website.

Canada Industrial Relations Board
The Canada Industrial Relations Board provides a searchable database of its decisions since January 28, 1999. The decisions can be searched by keyword, category, author, panel, year, Board file number, or decision number; or they can be browsed alphabetically by case name. The decisions are available as PDF files. Decisions of the Board since January 1, 1999 are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal
The Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal makes available its decisions since December 8, 1995. The decisions are listed by decision number in reverse chronological order.

Canadian Broadcast Standards Council
The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council provides Adjudicating Panel decisions since 1991. The decisions can be browsed by year in reverse chronological order or seached by keyword.

Canadian Charter of Rights Decisions Digest
This digest, edited with commentaries by Graham Garton, is available via the CanLII website. The digest is organized by section number, and appendices include general principles of interpretation, waiver of rights, the Criminal Code, R.S.C. judicially considered, and R.S.C, 1985 statutes judicially considered. Links are provided throughout to Supreme Court decisions on the CanLII site. The latest updates to the digest are dated April 2005.

Canadian E-Discovery Case Law Digests (Common Law)
This digest of case law dealing with electronic discovery issues was originally created by the members of the eDiscovery sub-committee of the Task Force on the Discovery Process in Ontario as a supplement to the eDiscovery Guidelines and is currently maintained by the members of the Sedona Canada Working Group (WG7). The case law digests are organized by topic and, when possible, are linked to full-text decisions, mainly in CanLII. Also available is a separate Quebec Legislation and Case Law Digests (Civil Law. Both digests are available from the Ontario Bar Association's Discovery Task Force E-Discovery Guidelines and Resources page and the Canadian eDiscovery Portal on the LexUM website. The Sedona Canada Principles are also available on the Canadian eDiscovery Portal.

Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency provides the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry, a searchable database of information on current environmental assessments initiated on October 30, 2003 or later. Also available are lists of comprehensive studies and review panels, including those that started before October 30, 2003. Information on an environmental assessment is archived six months after the posting of the notice of decision and can be accessed via the Canadian Environmental Assessment Archives.

Canadian Forces Grievance Board
The Canadian Forces Grievance Board makes available case summaries since 2001. The summaries can be searched by keyword, year and/or subject.

Canadian Human Rights Reporter
The website of the Canadian Human Rights Reporter (C.H.R.R.) offers summaries of some of the most important cases published in the volumes of C.H.R.R. Case names are listed alphabetically and linked to summaries.

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal
The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal provides access to its decisions since 1979. The decisions can be browsed by year, alphabetically by complainant or respondent, or by ground of discrimination; alternatively, they can be searched by keyword, decision date, case grounds and case referral year. Decisions of the Tribunal since January 1, 1979 are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Canadian International Trade Tribunal
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal makes available its decisions since 1989 on appeals from decisions of the Canada Border Services Agency made under the Customs Act and the Special Import Measures Act and of the Minister of National Revenue under the Excise Tax Act. Also provided are decisions on dumping and subsidizing reviews and procurement determinations. Decisions are listed by year and number and name of appellant, product, or complainant and are available in MS Word and PDF files. Decisions of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal since February 23, 2006 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Canadian Internet Registration Authority
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) provides decisions made by panellists on complaints initiated under the CIRA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy since 2002. Decisions rendered after September 18, 2003 are posted in the language in which were written and received by CIRA. The documents are available as PDF files.

Canadian Native Law Cases
As part of the Resources for Aboriginal Studies project, the University of Saskatchewan Libraries and University of Saskatchewan Archives have digitized the Canadian Native Law Cases, a 9-volume published set containing all reported Canadian court decisions relating to aboriginal and metis cases from 1763 to 1978, as well as appeals to the Privy Council and a selection of previously unreported cases. The cases can be browsed by volume number and style of cause, or the full text can be searched by keyword or phrase.

Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission provides access to documentation relating to decisions on the licensing of major nuclear facilities since June 29, 2000. Hearing documents are searchable by keyword, licensee, facility, document type, hearing notice number and/or date or browsable by year and date. The documents are available as PDF files. Also provided are news releases relating to recent decisions.

Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)
The CRTC provides broadcasting and telecommunications decisions since 1984, broadcasting and telecommunications public notices since 1984, broadcasting notices of public hearing since 1992 (with some prior coverage), broadcasting distribution orders since 1999, broadcasting exemption orders since 1991, broadcasting circulars since 1996, telecommunications circulars since 2003, orders since 1994 (with some coverage in 1993) and cost orders and taxation orders since 1984. The indexes of recent documents are organized by year, and all decisions and notices are numbered in sequence. Archived documents are available only by doing a search. All documents can be searched by keyword or document number. Beginning February 14, 2005 all decisions, notices and orders are available as both HTML and PDF files.

Canadian Transportation Agency
The Canadian Transportation Agency makes available its decisions and orders since 1988. Also provided are interlocutory decisions since 1999. All the rulings can be browsed chronologically by ruling type or category, or searched by ruling type, subject, ruling number, and keyword.

Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP
The Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP provides case summaries that illustrate how the Commission is influencing RCMP conduct and national policing policy. Also provided are interim and final review reports intended to highlight significant issues and illustrate the types of recommendations the Commission has made to the RCMP from 2006 to date.

Commissioner of Patents
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) provides a searchable database of all decisions of the Commissioner of Patents since 1970 on issues raised during the examination of patent applications. The information for new decisions is normally available within one week of the Commissioner's decision being made public. Decisions are searchable by topic, keyword, language, Commissioner's decision number, application number, patent number, International Patent Classification (IPC), Canadian Patent Classification (CPC), or date.

Competition Tribunal
The Competition Tribunal provides summary information on all applications filed with the Tribunal and the full text of selected decisions issued since November 29, 1990. Case information can be searched or browsed by date filed, by date decided, alphabetically, or by type of case. The decisions are available as PDF files. In addition, the tribunal's website provides access to relevant legislation including the Competition Act, the Competition Tribunal Act and the Competition Tribunal Rules. Decisions of the Tribunal since January 1, 1990 are also available via CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Copyright Board
The Copyright Board makes available its decisions since 1990. The decisions are grouped by subject matter and are listed in reverse chronological order. All decisions are provided as PDF files. Board decisions from 1990 to 1994 published in the Copyright Board Reports are reproduced on the website and respect the page numbering of the publication. Recent decisions are also provided in the What's New section of the Board's website.

Employment Insurance Jurisprudence Library
Service Canada provides access to a searchable database of all insurance jurisprudence (i.e., CUBs (Canadian Umpire Benefits), Federal Court and Supreme Court decisions) established over a period of more than 60 years on U.I./E.I. matters. Selected significant CUBs can be searched by keyword and limited by issue, or all CUBs, employment insurance related Federal Court and Supreme Court decisions as well as selected significant CUBs can be searched using an extended search page.

Environmental Protection Review Canada
Environmental Protection Review Canada provides decisions of review officers on requests for review of Environmental Protection Compliance Orders from 2002.

Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada
The Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) makes available a searchable database of issues of RefLex, a publication containing digests of selected immigration and refugee law decisions since May 1, 1991. Included are decisions of the IRB's Refugee Protection Division (formerly the Convention Refugee Determination Division), Immigration Appeal Division, and Immigration Division (formerly the Adjudication Division). Issues 1 to 82 of RefLex also include digests of decisions rendered by the Federal Court of Canada. RefLex is currently issued biweekly. As of issue 132 (February 16, 2000) digests are linked to full-text decisions. The digests can be browsed chronologically by issue or searched by keyword, division/type, language or date. Decisions of the Board since January 1, 2004 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Indian Claims Commission
The Indian Claims Commission makes available completed claims reports. The reports of inquiries into specific claims that have been rejected by government are listed in alphabetical order. Some reports are provided as PDF files. Also available is a Claimsmap which provides access to information about the status of land claims in a selected province or territory; and where applicable, links to the full reports are also included.

Investment Industry Regulatory Association
The Investment Industry Regulatory Association (created in 2008 through the consolidation of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and Market Regulation Services Inc.) provides decisions of disciplinary hearing panels since 2005. A keyword search is available. Decisions and related documents are available as PDF files.

Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada
The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada provides decisions of disciplinary hearing panels since 2004. Also available are documents relating to current cases. Decisions and related documents are available as PDF files.

National Energy Board
The National Energy Board provides a searchable Regulatory Documents Index including reasons for decsions, hearing transcripts, hearing orders and applications. The documents are hierarchically organized in a set of folders structured as commodity, company, project, folder or filing, document. A search bar is provided at the top of each folder, and an advanced search is available for searching over a combination of documents. Quick Searches provided links to summaries of recent decisions and filings linked to full-text PDF documents.

Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada
The Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada provides access to case summaries in its annual reports. Annual reports are available from 1990/1991 to the current reporting year as HTML and PDF files. The annual report for 2001/2002 contains a Cumulative Index of Case Summaries, 1994-2002.

Patented Medicine Prices Review Board
The Patented Medicine Prices Review Board provides its decisions since 1998. The documents are organized by pharmaceutical patent-holding company name and available as PDF files. Also available are Voluntary Compliance Undertakings (VCUs) since 1993.

Pension Appeals Board
The Pension Appeals Board makes available a searchable database of decisions on appeals under the Canada Pension Plan since 1971. The decisions can be searched by year, language, title, file number, appellant's name, respondent's name, intervener's name and document content. Full-text documents are provided in PDF format.

Privacy Commissioner of Canada
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada provides case summaries of findings of the Privacy Commissioner on complaints made under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Privacy Act since 2001. Complainants, or parties involved, are generally anonymous in the published findings. The Commissioner's findings since January 1, 2001 are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries.

Public Service Labour Relations Board
The Public Service Labour Relations Board (formerly the Public Service Staff Relations Board) provides the full text of Board decisions since 2000, as well as summaries of selected decisions since 1996. Guide to Ontario Courts, a site maintained by the Judges' Library, provides searchable access to the full text of Court of Appeal judgments, endorsements and appeal book endorsements since June 1998. New judgments and endorsements are posted daily. Building Code Commission
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing website includes appeals and approvals of Ontario's Building Code Commission since 1993. Child and Family Services Review Board

The website of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario includes recent Discipline Committee decision summaries. Conservation Review Board

Employment Standards Appeal Decisions
The Ontario Workplace Tribunals Library makes available Employment Standards Appeal decisions from 1971 to 2002. The decisions are categorized as Employer Appeals or Employee Appeals and are organized by year and listed alphabetically. A separate category is provided for Becker Decisions. Environmental Review Tribunal
The Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal also functions as the Office of Consolidated Hearings to hear applications made under the Consolidated Hearings Act and as the Niagara Escarpment Hearing Office to hear development permit appeals and Niagara Escarpment Plan amendment applications under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act. The Tribunal website provides decisions and orders for each of its three functions since 1975. The decision and orders can be browsed chronologically or searched by keyword. Financial Services Commission of Ontario
The Financial Services Commission of Ontario makes available insurance arbitration and appeal decisions involving statutory accident benefits claims since 1991. To access the arbitration and appeal decisions, use the user name "decisions" and the password "subscription." Decisions are available as HTML and/or PDF files. Also provided are pension decisions of the former Pension Commission from 1998 to 2002 and case summaries of decisions of the Financial Services Tribunal and the former Pension Commission of Ontario.

Financial Services Tribunal
The Financial Services Tribunal provides financial hardship decisions since 2001, insurance decisions since 1999, mortgage decisions since 2000, paralegal/SABS representative decisions since 2005, and pension decisions since 1999. The decisions are listed alphabetically by file name and are available as PDF files. Grievance Settlement Board

Health Services Appeal and Review Board
The Health Services Appeal and Review Board, which hears appeals under the Health Insurance Act, the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the Long-Term Care Act, the Independent Health Facilities Act and a number of other statutes, provides at searchable database of its decisions. The Information and Privacy Commissioner provides access to significant orders or privacy complaint reports since 1988. The reports can be browsed by subject or legislation (the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, or the Personal Health Information and Protection of Privacy Act). The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario provides access to disciplinary cases since 1987. Cases are organized by Rule of Professional Conduct, alphabetically by member/firm name, or by keyword search.

Landlord and Tenant Board
The Landlord and Tenant Board (formerly the Ontario Rental House Tribunal) provides access to selected Board decisions. Information about the status of applications as well as about hearings is also available. Applicants must enter a file number (e.g., TSL-00123) and the postal code of the building on the application (e.g., M2G 2E5).

Land Titles Assurance Fund Tribunal
Land Titles Assurance Fund (LTAF) Tribunal decisions since 1986 are available in the Land Registration Information section of the Government of Ontario website. The LTAF was created under the Land Titles Act to compensate people for certain financial losses due to real estate fraud, omissions and errors of the land registration system. Ontario Municipal Board
The Ontario Municipal Board provides access to E-Decisions, a searchable database of its decisions since 2001. The decisions can be searched by keyword using Boolean or proximity search methods. Results are displayed as case abstracts linked to full-text decisions available as PDF files. Attachments to decisions are not yet included. The database is updated weekly. Also available on the site is E-Status, which provides the current status of a case including date, time and location of a hearing.

Ontario Police Arbitration Commission
The Ontario Police Arbitration Commission makes available a searchable database of arbitration decisions since 1997. Disputes are classified as either rights disputes or interest disputes and can be searched by region, award number, municipality, arbitrator or date range.

Ontario Racing Commission
The Ontario Racing Commission provides access to its rulings since 2000. The rulings are organized by type (standardbred, thoroughbred or quarter horse) and year and are available as PDF files.

Ontario Securities Commission
The Ontario Securities Commission makes available its orders, rulings and decisions on applications under the Securities Act (Ontario) since 2000. Decisions under National Policy 11-203 Process for Exemptive Relief Applications in Multiple Jurisdictions and the former National Policy 12-201 Mutual Reliance Review System for Exemptive Relief Applications are also provided. British Columbia

The Courts of British Columbia
The British Columbia Courts site contains a searchable database of all reasons for judgment released by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court since 1990. The collection includes decisions pertaining to Yukon. The website is updated daily. Reserve judgments are posted by 12:00 noon of the day they are released in chambers. Oral judgments are posted after they have been signed by the judge. Many of the reasons for judgment are available in text format only. Decisions since January 1, 1990 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII—Court of Appeal and Supreme Court—where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. British Columbia Provincial Court
The British Columbia Provincial Court Judiciary's website provides a searchable database of judgments since the third week of December 1999. Also available is information concerning the Provincial Courts, including Rules of Court. Decisions of the Provincial Court since January 1, 2000 as well as some prior decisions are also available on CanLII, where they can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. British Columbia Law Reports
The British Columbia Reports is a law report series that was first published in 1884 by the Law Society of British Columbia, with judgments dating back to 1867. The series ceased publication in 1948. Also published during this period was the Digest of British Columbia Case Law, a three-volume series of summaries of cases from the Reports, as well as from publications of the Supreme Court of Canada and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in the United Kingdom. This online collection, made available by the Notary Foundation of the Society of Notaries Public of B.C., the B.C. Courthouse Society, U.B.C. Law Library and U.B.C. Archives, includes the full text of all decisions published in the law report series as well as the digests. Users can search the entire collection, or browse issues of the British Columbia Reports. Fulltext Judgments Database
The Law Society of Saskatchewan Library Services provides a searchable database of full-text judgments from the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, Court of Queen's Bench, and Provincial Court from 1994 to date. The written judgments as received from the Saskatchewan courts are loaded in the database within three days of receipt. Court of Appeal judgments are received on the day after they are released to the parties.

CanLII
CanLII (Canadian Legal Information Institute) is the largest free online legal website providing access to primary sources of Canadian law. It is funded by the members of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and produced by the LexUM Laboratory at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law. The site contains collections of court and administrative tribunal decisions from Canada’s federal, provincial and territorial jurisdictions. CanLII usually publishes decisions within two working days after they are received. All documents are accessible by jurisdiction and collection and can be browsed chronologically or searched using basic or advanced queries. The documents are available as HTML and PDF files. A citator (Reflex) provides enhancements to CanLII's content. Also available are RSS feeds for all case law databases, and the Info-CanLII mailing list.

National Reporter System
Maritime Law Book provides free searchable access to over 215,000 cases in its 12 National Reporter System databases. Included are cases from the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, and the trial and appellate courts from all provinces and territories in Canada (except Quebec), as well as selected cases from the House of Lords and Privy Council (view database content). The databases cover an estimated 17,000 cases from the 1960s and 1970s that are not available on CanLII. Free access is limited to the judgments without the headnotes and key numbers. Also provided are topical indexes with links to recent cases.
