All of the data has been converted into a consistent format, and a generalized set of search and hypertext facilities has been added. Legislation: United Kingdom

UK Statute Law Database
The UK Statute Law Database (SLD) is the official revised edition of the primary legislation for the United Kingdom made available online. SLD includes primary and secondary legislation. Most types of primary legislation are in revised form with amendments made to them by subsequent legislation incorporated into the text. Most types of secondary legislation are not revised and are only in the form in which they were originally made. The originating text of SLD was derived from two earlier official editions of revised primary legislation, Statutes in Force (SIF) and the Northern Ireland Statutes Revised (NISR). The final text of SIF was revised to 1 February 1991, and that of NISR to 1 January 2006. These dates form the base dates from which revision has been taken forward. Work on bringing the text of SLD fully up to date is in progress. Users may consult Update Status of Legislation to determine the date to which legislation has been revised and to obtain details of any effects that have not yet been applied to it. All amendments and other effects on legislation for each of the years 2002 to the current year are listed in the Tables of Legislative Effects. New legislation is loaded onto SLD as soon as possible; however, it will usually take from two to four weeks following enactment to appear in the New Legislation table.
