Cataloguing Services
The Great Library's Library Systems and Technical Services Department provides cataloguing and processing services to libraries for legal materials, including Internet resources.
The cataloguing service includes high-level cataloguing using the following standards:
- KF Modified for common law legal material
- LC Classification for non-common law and non-legal material
- MARC 21 format for bibliographic data
- AACR2 and LC rule interpretations for descriptive cataloguing
- Library of Congress and Canadian Subject Headings
- enhanced table of contents notes for Law Society of Upper Canada CLE materials
- customized records, including holdings information for individual libraries
In addition to the cataloguing service, Library Systems and Technical Services provides cataloguing products such as spine labels.
Online Reporting Forms
Online reporting forms are available for the submission of cataloguing
requests by county and district law libraries in Ontario and libraries
subscribing to fee-based cataloguing services. Please select the

Cataloguing services are complemented by Electronic
Resources, a collection of law-related Internet resources selected,
catalogued and added to AdvoCAT, the online catalogue for the Great
Library and the county and district law libraries in Ontario, by
Great Library staff.
